Modernist Fine Art

Modernism seeks abstraction rather than reproduction. The value of art becomes apparent when an object recedes from its practical value. The value of design is fleeting and temporary, only the value of art is eternal, so the art does not have to evolve but is a form brought about by the subconscious. So design can pursue artistry to achieve eternity.

The modernist period gave rise to many art schools such as Cubism, Symbolism, Futurism, Expressionism, Constructivism, Surrealism, etc.
